A guided fishing trip makes for a truly special and relaxing day on the White River. With a professional guide taking care of all the details, you are free to sit back and enjoy. You don’t have to worry about navigating; your guide knows the river and will safely maneuver around the shoals and recognize changing water conditions. You don’t have to wonder whether you’re fishing in the best place or using the best bait; your guide will take you to his favorite fishing holes and show you what to use. You don’t have to figure things out on your own if you are new to fishing this river; your guide can help you with baiting, casting, and successfully bringing in your catch. A friendly professional fishing guide will make your day entertaining and enjoyable.

Why Hire Guides Through Us?

First, we at the White Hole Resort are very selective about the guides with whom we work. We have years of local experience with the numerous guide services along the river. This enables us to guarantee that the guides we choose for you are professionals in both fishing and personal conduct.

Second, we make taking guided fishing trips as easy as possible. All you have to do is tell us what days you want guides and how many people will be on your trip. Guides hired through us will be waiting for you with their boats at our covered dock steps away from your cabin. We will make sure that your guide has all the equipment and resources he needs to give you a great trip.

Third, when you book guides through us, you can rest assured that everything is safely arranged. All payment will be handled through our reputable business, though you may also tip the guide directly if you wish. You will be covered by our insurance if any unlikely accidents occur. Your cabin and our office are available should you need a place to wait out a storm or take a break.

In short: Book guides with us to get the best, most convenient, and most secure service.

What Should I Expect?

Guided fishing trips usually start around 7:30 in the morning at our dock, even if the river is still foggy. Your guide will be ready to go out in all weather except thunderstorms with lightning (if thunderstorms arise, you’ll have the option to wait out the storm and then return to your trip). Your guide will have everything you need for a successful day of fishing, including ready-to-use spinning reels and rods, bait, tackle, cold water and sodas, and a clean jon boat. After a quick assessment of your desires and skills, your guide will take you out on the river where he will navigate the boat to the best fish and help you catch them. A half-day trip returns you to the dock four hours later; a full-day trip lasts about eight hours.

What Options do I have?

Cold water and sodas automatically come with your trip, but meals must be arranged in advance. If you request it days before your trip, we can send you and your guide out with boxed lunches containing a deli sandwich, fixings, and dessert. You can also pack a lunch yourself to take on the river with you. Or your guide can bring you back to your cabin for lunch.

While the majority of our guests spin fish with bait and lures, you can instead request to fly fish when you book the guide with us. Since fly fishing requires additional skills and knowledge, rates for fly fishing are higher than spin fishing. Refer to the chart below for specific information.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?

Sometimes plans just don’t work out as desired. By reserving a guide, you are having a man devote his day to serving only you. If you cancel your trip, then your guide will likely lose his opportunity for a day’s work. We will require a cancellation fee which may be up to the full value of the reserved guide service if you cancel your reservation less than fourteen days before the trip.
