Serious water. Serious fish. All skill levels welcome.
Welcome to the White Hole Resort
White Hole Resort has been part of the White River since 1972, and today it remains what it has always been: a place for people who take fishing seriously and want to experience the river the right way.
We’re a guide-owned lodge, run by people who know this stretch of water intimately. Whether you’re here for your first trip to the White or returning for another season, our steady boats, experienced guides, well-stocked bait shop, and comfortable cabins are all here to support what matters most: time on the water done well.
Give us a call when you’re ready. We’ll help you plan your time on the river, and then we’ll let the river do the rest.
Cabins for serious anglers & laid-back river weekends.

Fishing
Guide Owned & Operated
White Hole Resort is a guide-owned lodge, run by people who make their living on this river. That means the fishing here isn’t theoretical or seasonal – it’s informed by daily time on the water and years of hard-earned experience.
Located at the head of the river’s deep “White Hole,” our position gives you immediate access to productive water day after day. This section of the river holds strong numbers of rainbow trout, along with trophy brown trout that challenge even experienced anglers. Cutthroat and brook trout round out the mix, making the White River rewarding whether you’re new to fishing or have been at it for decades.
You’re welcome to fish your own way: rent one of our boats, bring your personal boat and launch next door at the White Hole Public Access, or we can set you up with some of the best guides on the White River. Whether you prefer bait fishing or fly fishing, we’ll match you with guides who fish the way you do and who know how to make the most of your time on the water.
Whether you’re drifting scuds on 6x or throwing PowerBait with your kids, we’ll put you on fish.

Meet the Owners
Captain Bailey Short began his flyfishing career at Orvis as a teenager, teaching anglers how to pick up a fly rod and fall in love with the sport. From there, he returned to his home waters of South Louisiana, where he built one of the region’s premier guide services over the past decade.
Fly fishing has taken Bailey all over the world as a travel guide, but these days he spends much of his time guiding on the White River. With the same patience and easygoing approach he started with, Bailey enjoys helping anglers of all experience levels find success on the water.
As co-owner of White Hole Resort, Bailey brings world-class guiding experience, and more than a few good fish stories, to guests of the lodge.
Morgan Short grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has a background in archaeology, and now co-owns and runs White Hole Resort alongside her husband, Bailey.
She handles the day-to-day operations of the lodge – reservations, guest experience, and the thousand details that keep everything moving – and she does the cooking. From post-fishing dinners to homemade desserts, Morgan believes good food and a full table are part of what make a stay memorable.
When she’s not in the kitchen or behind the scenes keeping things running, you’ll find her on the water fishing.
White Hole is a true hands-on, family-run lodge, built on hospitality, hard work, and a genuine love for the river.
