Steve Willetts, owner of White Hole Resort

Many different types of groups come to the White Hole Resort, but all come for the same purpose: going on a great fishing trip and relaxing with good company. Maybe you’ll start a new tradition if you aren’t continuing one already. Whatever your group type—friends, family, business associates, church-sponsored, or social group—we are confident we can serve you and your companions. Below we’ve put together some ideas to help you get started planning for your group’s special trip.

Everything you need to plan your trip

Step 1: Dates

Any season is an excellent time to come fishing on the White River. You can catch many Rainbow Trout throughout the year. The big Brown Trout are most active in early spring. Summer months are hot, but the river is cool and our swimming pool is a great place to relax. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and the majestic fall colors of the Ozark Mountains. Winter can certainly be chilly, but for those who are prepared, undertaking the adventure that few do will make your trip even more special.

Most trips are planned several months in advance. But, if you’re making last-minute plans, give us a call to see what we have available tomorrow or even today. We are open almost year-round; our busiest months are usually June, July, and October.

We offer discounts on cabin rentals, guided fishing services, and boat rentals from November 15th to the end of February.

Step 2: People

Our cabins house one to thirteen guests. If a single cabin won’t provide enough space, or if our larger cabins are already booked, don’t worry! We’ll help you reserve several cabins to accommodate your group. Reserving all the cabins on the resort property provides individual beds for fifty people.

Step 3: Fishing

You have several options for fishing arrangements:

  1. First, reserving fishing guides is the best way to give everybody in your group a great time on the river. Our partner guides are experienced rivermen skilled at working with guests of all ages and fishing abilities. Please note that we usually need at least a week’s notice to arrange guides for bait/spin- or fly-fishing.

  2. Second, if most of your group has some experience with fishing and boating on rivers, consider renting our flat-bottom jon boats for half- or full-days. These boats are uniquely designed for the White River. All of our boats seat up to three adults, and some can handle an additional small child.

  3. Third, you can bring your own boat and launch it from the public access ramp next door to our property. Keep in mind that at its minimum flow, the river is only a few inches deep in places; however, when Bull Shoals Dam is generating at full capacity, the water can be up to fifteen feet deep with a fast current. Therefore, we only recommend shallow-running boats with up to a 25hp propeller driven motor or a 40hp jet drive motor.

  4. Fourth, bank fishing on our 400 feet of easily accessible river-front property is always available and is sometimes the best option for young children. Wade fishing is possible when the river is at minimum flow.

Our fully stocked bait and tackle shop has everything you need for a successful fishing trip with bait and/or lures. We also have a small selection of flies available for any fly fishermen in your group.

Step 4: Meals

All of our cabins are equipped with kitchens and outside grills. Also, many local restaurants offer excellent breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. A local general store makes great boxed lunches, too. With a day’s notice and for a small surcharge, we will arrange and pick up your lunch for you before you go fishing.

For groups of ten or more, we can provide catered meals in our dining hall with at least one week’s notice. Many of our returning guests famously remember the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners we prepare in our commercial kitchen and grill.

Step 6: Book!

Call or email us today, and we will personally help you arrange the special trip you want! We do not offer online booking because we want to be as flexible and helpful as possible. To make a reservation, we typically hold your credit card information on file, or you can send a cash deposit.

Payment is typically handled upon checkout. We take payment in a variety of methods for your convenience: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, checks, and cash. We can total the final cost or divide it per person. We will provide quotes and invoices if desired. If the members of your group are joining you in paying for the trip, we recommend you collect advanced deposits from everyone to ensure your full group makes the trip and your per person cost does not change. If you realize you need to CANCEL, POSTPONE, or significantly CHANGE your reservation, then call us as soon as possible and NO LATER THAN:

  • 14 days before your scheduled arrival to any one-bedroom or two-bedroom cabins (cabins #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, or #8)

  • 30 days before your scheduled arrival to any four-bedroom cabin (cabins #9, #10, or #11)

  • 14 days before the reserved date of any guided fishing services
2 days before the reserved date of using a rental boat

A cancellation fee will be charged to your account if you must alter your reservation after these timeframes. For cabin and boat reservations, our cancellation fee is one-half of the total reservation value. To cancel guided fishing services, the fee is up to the full value of the reserved service.
