FAQs

What do I need to bring?

Bring food (unless you’ve reserved meals with us) and any fishing equipment you’d like to use during your stay.

Our cabins are fully equipped with the basics to make your visit comfortable. Each cabin includes pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery for cooking and dining. You’ll also find dish soap, cleaning rags, and hand towels in the kitchen for easy cleanup.

The beds are made with sheets, pillows, and blankets, and the bathrooms are stocked with towels and bar soap.

Guests should plan to bring their own groceries, drinks, coffee, fishing gear, tackle, sunscreen, bug spray, and any favorite cooking supplies. If you plan to wade fish, waders are recommended since the White River stays quite cold year-round.

If you forget something, our on-site shop carries many fishing essentials.

What's the coffee situation?

All cabins have a standard-sized coffee maker. We provide filters and cups; you bring the coffee.

Is there a minimum stay?

A two-night minimum stay is required year-round. A three-night minimum stay is required for the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, as well as Independence Day weekend (when applicable). Requests for one-night reservations will be considered around the scheduling of other reservations, but will not typically be accepted during our busier seasons.

What's your cancellation policy?

When you reserve cabins or services with White Hole Resort, those resources are held exclusively for your trip. Because we do not overbook cabins, guides, or boats, cancellations affect our ability to rebook those dates.

Please review the policy below before confirming your reservation.

Cancellation Deadlines

If you need to cancel or significantly change your reservation, please notify us as soon as possible. Cancellation fees apply as follows:

  • One- or Two-Bedroom Cabins:
Cancel within 14 days of arrival → 50% cancellation fee

  • Large Cabins:
Cancel within 30 days of arrival → 50% cancellation fee

  • Boat Rentals:
Cancel within 3 days of arrival → 50% cancellation fee
  • Guided Fishing:
Cancel within 14 days of arrival → 50% cancellation fee

No-Shows

If you do not arrive for your reservation and have not contacted us to cancel beforehand, the reservation will be treated as a no-show, and you will be charged 100% of the total reservation value. Same-day cancellations/changes will be treated as no-shows and will be charged the full amount.

Changes to Reservations

We understand that plans sometimes change. We will always try to accommodate reasonable adjustments when possible. However, changes made inside the cancellation windows above may be treated as cancellations and subject to the same fees. No changes will be accepted within 24-hours of your scheduled arrival.

Our Commitment

We reserve cabins, guides, boats, and meals specifically for your stay and never intentionally overbook. This policy allows us to operate fairly for both our guests and our staff. If you have any questions about this policy before booking, please contact us, and we will be happy to explain.

Do you charge deposits?

For most reservations, we only require a credit card on file to hold your reservation, but deposits are required for reservations that include meals, two or more 4-bedroom cabins, or three or more fishing guides. If a deposit is required, we will inform you at the time of booking. Deposits are applied toward your final balance.

If you’d like to make additional deposits to break up the cost of your trip, we’re happy to accommodate you.

What's the pet policy?

To best accommodate the needs of all of our guests, we welcome pets in cabins #6, #7, #8, #9, and #10. Bringing a pet to one of these permitted cabins costs $20 per pet per night. Pets are not allowed on the cabin furniture or bedding; bring their own bedding and food bowls with you. Keep pets on a leash at all times when they are outside, and do not leave them alone in the cabin. Any damage from pets will be charged to your account. Please let us know in advance if you intend to bring a pet.

Pets are not allowed in cabins #2, #3, #4, #5, and #11. Evidence of a pet in one of these no-pet cabins will result in a $100 cleaning fee.

When are check-in & check-out times?

Your cabin will be ready for check-in after 3 p.m. on your arrival date. If you want to arrive before 3 p.m., call us to see if your cabin will be available at an earlier time. We need you to be checked out of your cabin by 11 a.m. on your departure day, although you are welcome to stay and fish after checking out of your cabin. If you want to leave before we open the office in the morning, please check out with us the afternoon before your departure.

Where can I smoke?

You may smoke outside on the porch of your cabin. Please use the ashtrays and cigarette cans conveniently located on the porches. For the comfort of our other guests, smoking is not permitted in any of our cabins.

When are quiet hours?

Many people have commented about how peaceful it is here. For the comfort of all our guests, quiet hours are enforced. Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., keep noise to a normal speaking level to avoid disturbing other guests.

Meet the Owners

White Hole Resort is now owned and operated by Bailey and Morgan Short.

Bailey is an internationally recognized fly fishing guide and marine conservation advocate who built his career guiding anglers through the saltwater marshes of Louisiana. After 13 years on the Gulf Coast, he turned his focus inland to the legendary trout waters of the White River.

Morgan brings a background in business and archaeology. Together, we are committed to honoring the resort’s legacy while thoughtfully elevating the experience for today’s anglers and families.

Our goal is simple:
Preserve what makes White Hole Resort special. Improve what we can. Welcome every guest like they’re returning friends.
