Why Your Trout Fishing
Experience Will Be So Good
The Trout You Want Are Here
A great trout fishing experience demands a river with a lot of trout in it.
No worries! The legendary White Hole trout fishing hot spot, our namesake, is right
outside your cabin. Several brown trout weighing up to 15 pounds have been caught here in
recent years as well as in the past. The White Hole area is stocked with 6,000 to
8,000 trout per month all year. The stockings are a mixture of brown, cutthroat, and
one-pound rainbow trout. All of these fish grow rapidly in the food-rich cold waters of
the White River. There are plenty of trout to catch, even if you have a large group who
wants to fish together. Catching 20 to 30 rainbow per day per person is common. Any trout
weighing four pounds or more is considered a trophy. Our guests frequently catch trout
weighing four pounds or more. Take a look at our fishing photo album and you'll see what we mean. You'll definitely be "on the
fish" here!
The River Access You Need Is Here
Now how do you get to all those trout? No worries! Fish on
land from our private grassy river banks. There's plenty of open room to cast without
catching in brush. Or boat up and downstream fishing several holes and shoals in a day.
Whether it's just one person needing one boat, or a group needing several boats, you can
rent modern clean boats from us. If you bring your own boat you can launch at the public
hard-surfaced ramp that's right next door. During low water conditions wade fishing is
excellent right around the resort, and at the close-by catch and release Trophy Trout Area
near Bull Shoals Dam. High water produces excellent trout fishing conditions, and good
boating conditions, which is why we have many repeat guests and groups who enjoy high
water fishing. So no matter what fishing technique you or the members of your group enjoy,
we've got the access to all those trout you need.

In our on-site store we stock everything
you'll need for White River trout fishing
The Fishing Expertise You
Expect Is Here
But when you get to all these trout, will they
bite? No worries! White River trout fishing is what the White Hole Resort is all about. We
know the "catching" techniques and tackle you'll need for successful fishing in
low or high waters, any time of year. And if you want, we'll conduct a quick trout fishing
class for your entire group. If you run out of tackle, or did not bring what you need, you
can purchase it right here in our on-site tackle shop. Rods, reels, lines, lures,
accessories, we have what you'll need - including the helpful tips and tricks for
great trout fishing action. We keep enough tackle in stock to outfit an entire group
should the need arise. So whether its tackle you need, or a simple tip or two, or how to
catch your very first trout, we're here for you.
First Timers to Pros Fish With Us
Make no mistake about it. Our passion is passing on the joy of trout fishing to all
who want to give it a try - at any level. Children, seniors, familes, pros, it makes no
difference. We're ready. If you are an experienced trophy fisherman who already knows the
White River well but you still haven't caught that monster you know is out there with your
name on it, we know what it takes beyond just patience and persistance to land him. If you
have fished the White River several times catching lots of smaller trout, and want to give
trophy trout fishing a try, we'll be excited to help you do that. On the other end
of the experience scale we also enjoy helping people catch their very first trout. Ladies,
if you want to try trout fishing but are not happy about baiting hooks and the like, no
worries! Our guides do it all for you, they even take the fish off the hook for you. All
of our beginner trout fishers are amazed at how much fun they had. You will be too!

"Can you belive it? This beauty did
NOT get away!"
Yes, we can belive it. All it takes is a good guide!
Guided Fishing - The
Easy Fun Way To Trout Fish
Guided Trout
Fishing Trips
There are a lot of trout in many fishing holes all up and down the river near White Hole
Resort. While the White River is not a dangerous river, you still need to be careful
boating to and from those fishing holes. Plus you need to know the current fishing
regulations. And you won't catch as many trout, or as many bigger ones, if you don't know
the right baits and fishing techniques for any given water conditions. If you or your
group members have not fished the White River before, or if you really enjoy being spoiled
with good service while fishing, we recommend a guided fishing trip - for individuals or
groups.
Our guides are all skilled, experienced river
pilots who keep you safe in all water conditions. They know all the current fishing
regulations. They know how to catch a lot of trout. They know how to catch the big ones if
that is what you want to try. They understand the logistics of group fishing trips so that
the group trip runs smoothly and on time. Guide boats are clean, modern, and comfortable.
Best of all, you can't beat the level of service our guides give to each individual in
their boat.
Your guide, baits, hooks, untangles reel
snarls, rigs lures and hooks, nets the fish, and coaches those who want help catching more
trout. A White Hole Resort guided trout fishing trip is far more than just a boat pilot
running you to the fishing holes! It is a total experience of pure relaxation where
you don't have to do anything except have fun! We help ensure this by matching the right
guide for the kind of fishing experience you want. If you or your group have fished with
us before, and you have a favorite guide (like many of our guests do), call us before you
book your trip. If your guide is not already booked for the day(s) you want, we'll book
your trip with him. If you have a favorite guide you wish to fish with, please book as far
in advance as you can as our guides are popular.
Meals For Fishing Trips
There's something about outdoor recreation that brews up a big hunger. You'll
want to eat well, trust us! You have several meal options here. Due to the economics of
the process, we don't offer normal restaurant services. We offer meal services only to
those who plan in advance. We serve optional home-style meals in our spacious dining hall
which overlooks the river. All meals are freshly prepared in our dining hall commercial
kitchen. For all those taking fishing trips with us, we offer an optional continental
breakfast and/or sack lunch. For groups of six or more, we offer several additional
options for breakfast, lunch or dinner meals. For meal details please visit our Meals
Page. If you prefer you can stock up on groceries at close-by stores and cook your meals
in your cabin. About 10 miles away you'll find several good restaurants. However, many of
our guests confess that our meals are better than what they would cook in their cabins,
they like the service and companionship of our dining hall meals, and they really enjoy
the convenience of not having to drive to town to eat out.

Rent A
Boat And Go On Your Own
We have guests and groups who choose to rent
boats from us to fish on their own. Our fleet of rental boats are well maintained and
clean. We use the modern version of the classic White River John boat. All are flat
bottomed fiberglass boats twenty feet long. Each boat has a live well. Motors are recent
model easy-start 9.9hp outboards rigged with adjustable prop depth. Each rental includes a
full tank of gas, life jackets, padded swivel seats, a fishing net, and a paddle. We give
operation and safetly instructions with each rental, and tips on where to go for great
fishing. Due to safety concerns we limit rentals to no more than three adults per boat.

Helpful Fishing
Information For All
Licenses & Permits
A current Arkansas fishing license, and a trout permit, are required to fish on the
White River. Temporary or annual licenses are available for Arkansas residents or
non-residents. These can be purchased in our tackle shop, from another approved dealer, or
directly from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission by credit card or check by phoning
1-800-364-4263. You can also buy Arkansas
fishing licenses and trout permits online.
Recommended Bait & Tackle
Most of our guests prefer bait or spin fishing, although fly fishing is certainly
growing in popularity. For bait and spin fishing, a light or an ultra-light weight rod is
recommended. Four or six pound test line that is clear or ultra-green is preferred. Rod
and reel sets can be rented from our bait and tackle shop if needed. For fly fishing, a 5
or 6 weight rod that is 8 to 9 feet long works very well. Flies we recommend are wooly
buggers, sow bugs and scuds. Our tackle shop is fully stocked with the best baits, flies,
and lures for trout fishing. We carry live and artificial bait, lures, flies, tackle, new
rods and reels, snacks, cold sodas, shirts and hats. We can also provide fishing licenses
and trout permits.
Fall & Winter Trips & Trophy Fishing
Our fall and winter trout fishing trips are the joy of true sportsmen. February and March are the best time of year
to fish for very large trout. Fall foliage in the Ozarks is colorful during the last two
weeks of October. The winters here are very mild with most days well above freezing. We
are open all year so come fish anytime!
Gift Certificates
Need a gift for your sports-person? How about a gift certificate from the
White Hole Resort? We can send you a nicely printed certificate made out for any amount of
