Wildlife & Scenery
This area is in the White River Valley section of the Ozark Mountains. The scenery along the White is unique karst geology with limestone outcroppings and hardwood stands filled with wildlife and birds. The river water is exceptionally clear and clean. Many of our guests tell us the peacefulness and beauty of the river alone makes their stay worthwhile. As you fish drifting with the current or anchored next to a deep hole, you'll see bald eagles, song birds, and waterfowl. Both small and large wild animals are frequently seen coming down to water.

Air Evac Lifeteam Corporate Membership
The White Hole Resort has a corporate membership with Air Evac Lifeteam, an air-ambulance service. Any guest with a limb-or life-threatening medical emergency can be transported to the nearest hospital in a matter of minutes, without the worry of the cost. The helicopter is equipped with life saving equipment and an emergency medical crew including a registered nurse and a paramedic. This is a service we are providing our guests because we thought it was important that the needs of our guests are taken care of - even the unexpected needs. Our Location
Located along a paved country road, the resort setting is quiet and private. We are in north central Arkansas about 20 miles south of the Missouri, Arkansas state line. The nearest towns are Flippin, about 15 minutes away, and Bull Shoals, also about 15 minutes away. We are 25 minutes from Mountain Home, Arkansas. We are 7 miles downstream from Bull Shoals Dam.

Our Famous Fishing Spot on the White River
Our resort is named for an exceptionally deep water section of the river known as the White Hole. This area is filled with browns and rainbows. Through this last year, quite a few large brown trout weighing up to 15 pounds have been caught in our river section. Each month the White Hole area is stocked with 6,000 to 8,000 rainbow, too. These stocked rainbow trout, usually weighing about 1 pound each grow fast and provide plenty of action. Each year the upper twenty miles of the White River is stocked with 1 1/2 million rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. You're likely to catch your limit!

When there is no generation of water from Bull Shoals Dam, it is a great area for wading the shallows above and below the White Hole. If you prefer to stay on dry land, the banks are gently sloped with plenty of space to relax and wait for a bite. It is also possible to travel several miles with a jon boat and motor, fishing several holes and shoals. When water is being released, there are many opportunities for fishing shoals, steep banks, gravel bars, even the Catch and Release trophy trout area near Bull Shoals Dam.

Fishing Guides
The White Hole Resort's guides will work hard for you in making your trip memorable. Our guides help you with your tackle, put you on the fish, and help you bring in your catch. They also help keep you safe on the river and within the fishing regulations. You fish the easy way, relaxing in our padded swivel seats in 20' river boats, with expert assistance! If you are not experienced with fishing this river, using one of our expert guides at least one day is highly recommended.
White Hole Resort is a full service fishing resort providing all the services you need for an exciting day of fishing. If you already have a favorite guide, please call us first. If that guide is available, we will be glad to set up the fishing trip for you.

Fishing On Your Own
If you prefer to go on your own, we have well maintained, fully equipped, clean boats for rent under a covered dock. White River fishing boats are very unique: flat bottom fiberglass jon boats that are over 20 feet long and about 4 feet wide. Our boats are equipped with recent model 9.9 hp outboard motors that start easy, a full tank of gas, padded swivel seats, two anchors, a net, and a paddle. To get you started, we will give you safety instructions on boat and motor operation, and tips on where you can go for a great day of fishing. Due to safety concerns, we limit 3 adults in a boat.

Licenses & Permits
An active Arkansas fishing license and a trout permit are required to fish on the White River. Temporary or annual licenses are available for Arkansas residents or non-residents. These can be purchased in our bait shop, from another approved dealer, or directly from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission by credit card or check by phoning 1-800-364-4263.

Bait & Tackle
Most of our guests prefer bait or spin fishing, although fly fishing is certainly growing in popularity. For bait and spin fishing, a light or an ultra-light weight rod is recommended. Four or six pound test line that is clear or ultra-green is preferred. Rod and reel sets can be rented from our bait and tackle shop if needed. For fly fishing, a 5 or 6 weight rod that is 8 to 9 feet long works very well. Wooly buggers, sow bugs and scuds are most popular. Our bait shop is fully stocked with the best baits and lures for trout fishing. We carry live and artificial bait, lures, flies, tackle, new rods and reels, snacks, cold sodas, shirts and hats. We can also provide fishing licenses and trout permits.

Fall & Winter Trips
Our fall and winter trips are the joy of true sportsmen. Down here in Arkansas our northern neighbors can escape from cold, snow, and sleet. Trout fishing is very good in the fall and winter, and the winters here are very mild. We are open all year. We offer one of the most unique experiences that an outdoorsman can dream of! Great Dining
It's not enough that we've got a great fishing spot, we've got a great facility too. We do not operate a full-service restaurant but a full country-style breakfast or lunch can be provided with guided fishing

trips or groups. We can also prepare a fabulous dinner of select cut meats to groups of 6 or more. You'll come away from the table content! The dining hall and deck overlook a beautiful view of the White River and a high rock bluff.

Group Packages
Throughout the year we prepare customized packages for groups of 6 or more to suit specific needs and interests. Many of these groups are friends or families. Others are corporate- sponsored groups that come here every year to show appreciation to their best customers, award their employees, or discuss business plans. A package can include cabin(s), fishing guide services, boat rentals, meals, bait and tackle, fishing licenses, even live music - all for one very reasonable price. For many groups, a per person price can be quoted to make budgeting easier.

A typical itinerary for a group includes:

Dinner the evening of arrival - may include a 2 inch thick, slow-cooked pork chop. Then,
enjoy a quiet evening relaxing watching the moon rise over the river and bluff.
Rise to fresh coffee and meet fishing guides early the next morning. Start fishing about 7:00 am.
Return to our dock about 9:30 am and join your group for a hearty breakfast including scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, potatoes and the best country-gravy you'll find anywhere
Continue fishing with guides until mid-afternoon, then return after catching plenty of fish.
Clean up and relax before enjoying another fine dinner - how about a 20 ounce rib-eye steak that has been seasoned and grilled better than what you'd find in most restaurants?
Enjoy another relaxing evening visiting with your group.
If one day of fishing isn’t enough, then do it again the next day. Dinner may include smoked bar-b-q ribs.
